justVisual

was quite popular, but now it is not up-to-date anymore.
I’m going to relauch the CMS, because having a personal CMS is a must.
But I will not be making “just a visual” CMS anymore, I think. The principle I intend to implement is separation of the content and the look, even though the result will probably not be as visually impressive.

justVisual CMS

Now and then, every web developer dreams about creating their own Content Management System.

One that would be different from the rest. One that would be quick, user-friendly, simple and perfect in every way.

Creating, in short, the ultimate CMS.

I wasn’t an exception. My first attempt was WinToHTML – a set of HTML pages generated by VBScript. Of course, this way wasn’t flexible enough. Next year, I began developing a PHP-based CMS. First and foremost, I have needed such a CMS to maintain of my own CV pages.

Actually, justVisual CMS is targeted at small one-owner sites consisting from several blocks: header, left menu, top menu, footer, right column. It is also possible to have versions of your site in different languages. (The editing interface, however, is always in English.)

The only interactive element provided is the contact form. However, the template can be easy customized by adding your own PHP code.

The main advantage of justVisual CMS is that is is databaseless. This means

  • no database setup
  • no problems with clean URLs
  • quick copy/transfer of the entire site.

It was good CMS. BUT justVisual 1.2 had backdoors (fs_jVroot) Remote File Inclusion Vulnerabilities.

Who knows which secrets has your new justVisual 2.0 :)
